This is a great way to find out about the lapband from individuals who have had the surgery and to ask questions or just listen to individuals share their lapband journey experience. No need to sign up… just show up and if you can’t find the group ask for Tom at the cash register.     Earth Art, also known as “Ephemeral Art”, is an exciting genre of art that has emerged out of the contemporary world’s growing environmental consciousness. Art is created using natural elements – earth, stone, trees, plants, and even ice, and begin a dialogue with nature. Artists (both international and Canadian) arrive on June 15 to create original earth art installations from materials found on RBG's landscape. The installations will be completed on July 1, and the exhibit will run until October 13, 2014. Visitors will be able to attend a Curator’s presentation night, participate in related arts education programs, and enjoy special evening tours. Regular admission applies.     For immediate release:   A message from CMHA Hamilton Branch The Living Life to the Full course is a fun and engaging 12-hour, eight-week life skills course offered in a group format. Based on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) principles, the course provides people from all walks of life with effective tools to maximize their ability to manage life’s challenges. Designed by internationally renowned UK mental health expert, Dr. Chris Williams, the course teaches skills such as spotting ‘bad thoughts’, tips for feeling happier right away, and four easy steps to solving almost any problem. Living Life to the Full is part of the Canadian Mental Health Association BC Division’s suite of low to no-cost community-based self-help resources, which include the successful Bounce Back™: Reclaim Your Health program. When October 1 – November 19 1:30-3:00 p.m. Where CMHA Hamilton Branch 131 John St. S Cost $100/participant, including all course booklets & worksheets. This course is valued at $185/person and is currently offered at the reduced rate of $100/person due to generous sponsorship from the CMHA Hamilton Branch. Whether you’re wanting to have more energy, feel happier, get fit, be more organized, enjoy better relationships – the course can benefit you!
    • Irish Experience: Research from Ireland shows that before taking the course, 80% of participants were depressed, and only 20% were happy/not depressed. At the end of the course, the numbers were reversed: 83.3% were happy/not depressed and only 16.7% were depressed.
    • BC Experience: Feedback from BC participants shows that 91% would recommend the course to family and friends. In a pilot program in a BC workplace, 93% of participants said the course enhanced their coping skills.
