Bring the whole family to Battlefield House Museum and Park for a day of apple treats and activities on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Celebrate the fall-time harvest with wagon rides, music, games, children’s crafts, hands-on demonstrations, pumpkin decorating and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Stoney Creek Lions Club.
Commemorate the 200 anniversary of the Battle of Stoney Creek by witnessing cannon and musket drills by War of 1812 re-enactors.
Attention chefs of all ages. Test your skill at baking an apple pie and enter the annual Battlefield Apple Pie Bake-off. Bring your entries to the gift shop located in Grandview (Nash Jackson House) by 11 a.m. on Sept. 28. Local celebrity judges will announce the best pie at 2 p.m.
Admission to the Park is free. There is a nominal charge for wagon rides and other activities. Regular admission rates apply to tour Battlefield House Museum.
The Stoney Creek Lions Club will offer pancakes from 9 -11:30 a.m. at the concession stand. Hot dogs, corn on the cob, apple pie and other goodies will be sold from 11:30 a.m. onward at the concession stand.
