Aida is a hit. The voices, the music, the dancing, the lighting, the power of the story…it’s all there in Theatre Ancaster’s production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Tony award-winning Aida.
“We loved it in New York,” said Susan Smith of Burlington, “and this production is just as good.”
Helen Kirkpatrick of Ancaster found it amazing, and Deb and Max Wideman from New Hamburg talked of the show’s power and believability to Greg Stevenson, who plays Ramades, the male lead against the passion of Tracy Cain’s Aida.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the intensity of the comments, “said Gord Conroy, the producer of the show. “People talk of being spellbound, of that lump in the throat that is suddenly there.”
Aida continues its run this weekend with performance tomorrow and Saturday evening at 8 p.m.
“We still have good tickets available,” said Conroy, “but I’d love to be sold out. For those who wish a matinee, only one remains, this Sunday Nov. 27 at 2 p.m.”
To reserve tickets call 905-304-SHOW or visit the box office in the West Wing foyer just outside the Theatre Auditorium at Ancaster High School, 374 Jerseyville Rd. W. at Meadowbrook, weekdays between 6 and 8 p.m. or two hours before performances.
