Josephine Lambert and her Canadian Champion basset hounds Foxy, left and Cecil, are competing at the 137th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.

Live from Westminster

Watch Ancaster resident Josephine Lambert and her basset hounds Foxy Brown and Cecil B. DeMille compete at the prestigious 2013 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City.

See a live stream here:

Cecil, a male red and white basset, and Foxy, a tri-coloured female, have already racked up numerous awards at dog shows across Canada and the U.S. Foxy is also an American champion and Cecil is working to achieve the same distinction.

At the Basset Hound Club of America nationals last fall in Boston, Cecil scored a five-point major win which boosted his chances to compete at Westminster. Foxy is already an American Champion, making her eligible to appear at the event.

Lambert applied to enter her dogs at Westminster in late November, with no guarantee that her hounds would be chosen. She got the good news via email a few days later.

While appearing on national TV would be a dream come true for Lambert, she knows it will be very difficult to advance to the show finals on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
