The winner in Ward 6 is 1319 Fennell East, which features more than 10,000 lights on the roof, in the trees, along the fence and even in the backyard.

The judges were particularly impressed with what one of them called “stunning” use of space on the corner lot.

Runners-up in east Mountain ward are 15 Margate, with its computerized sound and light show, and 25 Redbury unit 46, which packs a lot of punch into a small lot.

On the central Mountain, the judges once again favoured 120 Fusilier. The Ward 7 winner features more than 12,000 lights and many handmade features.

Getting honourable mentions in Ward 7 are 26 Benemar and 183 East 25th.

In Ward 8, the winner is 64 Magnolia, featuring rows of lollipop lights and and continually changing colors from flood lights.

Honouable mentions on the west Mountain were 171 Chesley and 888 Garth.

More than 30 Mountain homes were nominated for the Mountain News Christmas Lights Tour this year by their owners or their neighbours.

If you or your neighbour put up thousands of lights and dozens of decorations, be sure to enter our annual contest.
There will be trophies and prizes for the best and brightest homes in Wards 6, 7 and 8 during the Mountain News Christmas Lights Tour 2012. But even if you don’t have the Griswold gene, be sure to check out the special section and map on our website to see which homes are worth looking at.
