The Braves celebrate their second-straight Hamilton Catholic high school girls rugby title.

Two rugby titles in a row for Brebeuf girls

The St. Jean de Brebeuf Braves have won their second-straight Hamilton Catholic girls high school rugby title.

The Braves beat the Bishop Ryan Celtics 24-5.

Sandra Bay, Michelle Lohbihler, Alize Spalding-Lawrence and Torry Bostock scored tries for Brebeuf; Lohbihler and Cassidy Noonan kicked converts. Joanne Nguyen scored for Bishop Ryan.

The Celtics witll play Oakville Trafalgar in the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference semi-final Thursday. The winner will take on the Braves for the GHAC crown on Tuesday.

In boys action, the Cathedral Gaels beat Cardinal Newman in the championship game. The GHAC boys championship is Tuesday at McMaster.
