About 3,000 boys and girls, from youngsters to teens, will be playing for a championship this weekend when the Mountain Hamilton Youth Soccer Club holds its annual Super Saturday event
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mohawk Sports Park.
Teams will compete in the finals of the Cliff Marshal tournament (u12 – u19 age groups).
Cliff Marshal was the founder and first president of the MHYSC back in 1964.
Players aged from about age three to nine will also have their final games of the season on Saturday.
This year, the Cliff Marshall tournament also welcomes some teams from the Stoney Creek Soccer Club (SCSC).
The 2013 outdoor season saw the realization of a component of the Hamilton United affiliation between the MHYSC and SCSC with the inclusion of an Interlock Recreation division.
MHYSC teams played home and away games at the recreation level against SCSC teams.
