The Raptors’ Samuel Morreale takes a jump shot at the Pistons’ net during the Newman Youth Basketball house league micro championship last Saturday at Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School. The Raptors went on to win 11-8.

Forty-six teams competed for the top spot in nine divisions last weekend at Cardinal Newman, Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Elementary School and St. David Catholic Elementary School.

The house league, which includes more than 500 boys and girls ages four to 13, promotes fun, competition, skill development and exercise.
