Anthony Romaniw, a St. Thomas More grad, was a triple gold medalist at the Ontario University Athletics 2012-13 Track and Field Championships. His performance helped the Guelph Gryphons to their first OUA team championship at the event. Romaniw, a human kinetics student, opened the two-day meet with a gold medal in the men’s 1000m (2:26.41) race. Later that day he anchored the 4x800m gold medal winning team. On Day 2 he added another gold medal to his resume in the men’s 600m race with a time of 1:19.63. He then anchored the silver medal 4x800m relay team to become the highest point scorer at the OUA championships. He is now preparing for the CIS Championships hosted by the University of Alberta from March 7-9.
