Day three of the 2014 Allan Cup Senior AAA Championship gets underway today at 3:30pm when the Allan Cup Hockey (ACH) Champion Brantford Blast face the Newfoundland Senior Hockey League’s (NLSHL) Clarenville Caribous.
The Blast have one win from the tournament’s opening game on Monday against the Kenora Thistle. The Caribous also sit with a single win after defeating the Thistles yesterday afternoon 5-2. Both teams head into this afternoon’s match up looking to clinch first in their division. The winner of their division will gain an automatic berth in Friday’s Semi Final game.
Tonight’s game at 7:30pm features the Bentley Generals from Alberta’s Chinook Hockey League taking on the South East Prairie Thunder from Western Canada. Both teams have a single loss and will be looking to pick up their first win of the tournament.
Last night the host team, the Dundas Real McCoys, managed to win 6-2 over the Generals, thus clinching their division and receiving an automatic berth in Fridays semifinals.
The Allan Cup Championship takes place on Saturday at 3 p.m. and will be telecast on either TSN or TSN2 at a time to be determined on Saturday.
