Dundas’ Mackenzie Hughes may be on the verge of a hot streak on the Web.com professional golf tour this weekend.
One week after the strongest event of his freshman season on the PGA preparatory tour, in Boise, Idaho, Hughes posted two straight rounds of two-under-par 69 in Overland Park, Kansas to sit at four strokes under par for the tournament, tied for 20th place.
It’s the second week in a row he’s made the cut to play the final two rounds of a Web.com event.
Hughes adds two more solid, sub-70 rounds after last week posting three rounds under 70 for the first time in 15 events.
Hughes took home his biggest paycheque of the season last week — $2,340.00, for a season total of $8,930 in winnings. He shot 275 in Idaho, his lowest score over a four round event this summer, after missing the cut in the four previous tournaments.
Hughes is 160th out of 258 players on the Web.com Tour. The top 25 at the end of the season earn status on the PGA Tour.
