LETTER: Get involved if you want to see schools stay open

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, what schools will we close?
Ladies and gentlemen, girls and boys. Lend me your ears. A school near you is slated to close.
You ask yourself, why?
Money or the lack there of, that’s why!
After blowing $2 billion on the eHealth and Oakville gas plant cataclysmic debacles, our provincial government finds the education coffers too short of money to fund empty pupil spaces on the central Mountain.
The closure selection process is flawed — seriously flawed.
In this world of unsettling events, it is a comforting feeling to have an elementary school near by for your precious child or grandchild.
It is the small and often taken for granted things in life that count.
You ask yourself, “What can I do about it?”
Get involved, get passionate and get in their face.
Let’s not have a decision made based on “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.”
