As a resident of the Benziger Community, I am surprised to read in the paper how you quote the existing councillor as stating the city should fight the developer regarding the Foothills of Winona Phase 2.

As a community, we had to demand a meeting with the councillor to discuss our concerns regarding this proposed development, a year after the development proposal was initiated.

As a group, we met numerous times to discuss all of the major concerns. We asked local resident, Ken Chartrand to help explain some of the technical issues as he has many years of municipal experience. He has been extremely helpful to our community group.

I, along with Ken Chartrand,  attended the first OMB hearing meeting, representing our group. Our community has worked long and hard to protect our concerns and as a group we feel our councillor has not supported us in any way on this matter, except to provide one meeting that we had to almost demand.

Our group not only is fighting the developer, but also the city, as they both have let us down. The next OMB meeting concerning this development proposal is set for April 15, in which Ken and myself will be participants.
