LETTER: Weather complaints nothing new

Since the beginning of time, the Earth has heated and cooled with extreme temperatures and at faster rates. The sun plays a major role with cooling and heating. Mars itself has had violent storms and the ice sheets there have been changing, too.
They called it High River in Alberta for a reason, long before there was any development near the river. The Romans complained about changing weather patterns that affected their harvests.
The Norwegians living near the shores had to move their villages because of rising water levels due to retreating glaciers about 400 years ago. Not to mention the Vikings, who farmed on Greenland about a thousand years ago.
And lets not forget actress Julie Andrews in “The Sound of Music” was singing and dancing high up in the Swiss Alps wearing a dress and dress shoes about 50 years ago.
Not telling us the truth about this climate change, global warming or global cooling, or whatever it is called now, will also cost us billions in taxes with failed programs, including the carbon tax or cap-and-trade scams, with no benefit to the people or the Earth.
