LETTER: Transcending morals, healthy boundaries

Re: Letter shows religion’s intolerance (Letters, Jan. 10)
Mr. Weiler clearly expresses his intolerance of those who choose to live their lives within healthy boundaries and reject the harmful.
Perhaps there should be laws against such bigotry.
He suggests that the transcending morals revealed to mankind in the beginning are detrimental and ignore scientific facts.
Consider the fact that a table produced by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care reveals that in 2004 within the region of Toronto, the HIV infection rate for men who have sex with men was 19.5 per cent. This is 200 times greater than the rate of males from non-endemic countries who contract HIV solely through heterosexual means.
Science seems to be supportive of the transcending morals Mr. Weiler rejects. The truth may hurt, but ignorance kills.
