LETTER: Thief stole memories of my father

I am thoroughly disgusted. A thief decided it was okay to reach over our fence and steal from our yard!
The items were of no financial significance. They were sentimental items: two milk cans that were used by my father in the old days when he delivered milk by horse and buggy.
We would use these items each spring to put planters on for display. If they were taken by a scrap metal dealer in order to feed his family, so be it.
But if this was someone who just wanted the cans, shame on you!
If guilt gnaws at you, good.
I never expect the items to be returned; I just wanted to relay how saddened I am. This behaviour is not okay.
