Although he was not with Hamilton Community News very long, Rod certainly left his mark as the managing editor.
Having gone to lunch with him several times, I gained much respect for his vision, his strength, courage and determination.
In my 20 years of writing “Proud Yesterdays” and “Dusty Corners” for the Mountain News, I have seen people come and go at the paper.
Rod had that special quality about him that made him stand out and certainly one to be remembered. The Community News can be proud of the fact that Rod was big  part of the team and we will all miss him greatly.
My regards and deepest sympathy to others who knew Rod well.
Hopefully his legacy developed in such a short time will inspire others to pick up the reins and carry on.
