LETTER: Revitalization On Concession

Back in March, a good friend of mine invited me to come and check out a magic show at the new Zoetic Theatre (formerly The Movie Palace)on Concession Street.
As I drove down Concession, I was impressed at the rejuvenation it has undergone. With its many new businesses, it’s like a breath of fresh air.
The street, which is situated on the mountain brow has a great view of the city, and is truly a hidden gem!
Some of the anchor businesses on the street are Shoppers Drug Mart, which formerly stood the historic Hillcrest for over 50 years, Tim Hortons,
Little Caesars and Subway, to name a few.
Each year, Concession Street businesses showcase themselves at Streetfest and FallFest. This year, the Streetfest will take place on June 7 and I plan on attending.
If you’re ever in need of a haircut, Concession is known for its numerous hair salons
An interesting fact which I didn’t realize is that Concession Street has the only BIA district on the Mountain.
When it comes to Concession, they make no concessions!
