It appears as though the Harper Conservatives are the only ones who take victims’ rights seriously.
Throughout Mr. Harper’s premiership, he and his government have introduced legislation that has been labelled as “tough on crime.” I have praised the Harper government in the past for their devotion to keeping our streets safe and I do so again today.
The prime minister has recently announced that his government will introduce legislation that will make it tougher for high-risk offenders with mental illness to get unescorted day passes or be released from custody.
Most people agree that Canada needs to move away from its hug-a-thug, revolving-door justice system; Harper seems to be the only one who is willing to make the appropriate changes.
