LETTER: New blood on school board would better serve students

re: Hill Park is prime location, just need to renovate it (Letters, Jan. 6)
I totally agree with the comments. I had the opportunity to visit Hill Park in the fall. I made a point of doing so because of the pending closure.
What is the board thinking?
I graduated from Hill Park in 1963 and have many fond memories of my years there. I agree some updating might be needed, but with that done, the school is certainly large enough to accommodate the current Hill Park students as well as those from Barton.
I wrote a letter to the local superintendent of the school board outlining my thoughts. The response I received left much to be desired, except to say the board had considered various options and still felt closure and a new school was warranted.
I think some new blood and sane thinking is needed on the school board. Economics doesn’t seem to enter into much anymore. The students and their families deserve better.
