LETTER: Government has to show it cares about workers

Can someone explain to me why the Canadian government is sitting back and allowing American-run Canadian businesses to throw our people out in the streets with the baloney-filled excuse that they are trimming costs?
Meanwhile, the jobs they are trimming all of a sudden become an asset because they are now in the United State.
What galls me the most is so-called business experts here go along with this rape of our labor force.
Perhaps you might want to explain to the young people trying to gain an education so as to have a job when they graduate what type of work will be available, or are they just wasting their tuition money on a futile effort?
What about those who have graduated and have to repay the tuition loans — do they have jobs to go to or will they join the unemployed groups already out there?
All of this is due to the fact that we have a government that doesn’t care about the average Canadian except for his vote.
Go back in history and see what happened when the workers got fed up with being hustled and jostled by that one per cent.
It is starting to happen in other countries and we are not immune.
That has already been proven in the last little while both here and in the USA.
