LETTER: About time we define human being

It is astounding that abortion was legalized in Canada with absolutely no rational attempt whatsoever to define when life begins. Present law suggests merely an attempt to rationalize without thinking rationally.
I thus commend Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth for introducing a new private member’s bill that seeks to define a human being.
Of course everyone knows the scientifically proven fact that full human life begins at conception with the formation of a genetically complete, self-directing human entity, the embryo. We know with absolute certainty that life does not result from the organism when it has been built up, but that it is the vital principle that builds up the organism of its own body. Once officially established and introduced into law this will confirm and expose those who like to call themselves “pro-choice” as really “pro-murder.”
It will also lead to the complete abolition of abortion.
