M. O’Connor, Former resident with fond memories of the area.
These days are strange. Calming and peculiar. It is as if time has stopped. I feel youthful, like anything is possible. Content with my past and steadily moving into the future. I could walk for hours. And I do. I walk the routes I normally travel by bus.
I see everything. The variety of old homes with paint chips peeling like dying leaves falling off of the trees.
I walk through alley ways and follow paths I’ve never spotted before. They expose a secret view. I feel privileged.
The sun shines between trees and around corners but it isn’t warm out. I am wearing a sweater and long pants but the temperature is perfect.
There is no breeze. Only an uninterrupted stillness. The sky is partially covered with a dull grey. I spot unique clouds here and there.
Yes, these days are strange. Calming and peculiar. As if time has stopped.
