Terrie Gubbins, President, Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 36 Dundas extend our gratitude to merchants, as well as numerous members, for the generous contributions towards our annual draw.
The draw ran throughout the month of November with the final draw being held on Dec. 7. The generosity will enable us to give back to the community, as well as helping veterans through various avenues moving forward. We are grateful to have a caring, giving community.
Contribution made it possible to purchase a Christmas gift for seniors without families. These Christmas gifts were left at local nursing home for the seniors to open on Christmas morning.
Generous donations also permitted us to supply Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas morning breakfast, lunch and dinner and Boxing Day breakfast for a family in need.
We also will be able to increase our annual donation to the Ontario Bursary which helps students get some funding towards their educations. By helping the students, who will be community future leaders, we will ensure that our community as a whole benefits.
In February we forwarded Valentines for vets to ensure that our veterans know the community has not forgotten the sacrifices they made and that we are forever grateful.
It is the big heart and kindness of the Dundas local merchants listed above that added to the spirit of the season and the success of our draw. Thank you so much.
We truly appreciated it.
The Ladies Auxiliary is striving to serve veterans and the community. We would like to thank all of our members for their hard work, as well as the Legion as a whole for making it all possible.
