Three-storey seniors’ facility in a residential neighbourhood not respectful of the community

Ancaster News

Re: 400-unit seniors’ facility proposed, Feb. 9.

Besides the positive benefits of such a facility for the aging population and the employment opportunities, what is the benefit for the community by allowing this project in the area of Golf Links and Southcote roads in Ancaster?

Staff and support vehicles, as well as visitors, add higher volumes of traffic per day to this intersection. Operator Shannex’s limited traffic study (one day) finds a solution to fit — a roundabout. A three-storey facility in a residential neighbourhood is not respectful of the community. The facility and its purpose are good, however, the location, not so much.

Perhaps David Fritch thinks people in his Canadian neighbourhood shouldn't be growing old and staying alive after they are retired and no longer pay working income taxes that has given him the opportunity to be incredibly self absorbed.
