re: Protest is about money, not ideals (Editorial, Dec. 13)
Bill 115 is all about money and not ideals. It is being put in place to cover nine years of fiscal irresponsibility, lack of accountability, patronage, partisanship and golden handshakes to people who did not, or could not, do their jobs in a responsible manner or possibly lacked the knowledge needed to fulfill that endeavour, resulting in a great deal of tax money being flushed down the chute. The students themselves recognize who the bad guys are and it’s not their teachers. Situations like this that are created by the government, perhaps, in one way are a godsend merely because it will awaken the future leaders of our world to become more involved and knowledgeable of what a politician represents and who he represents and if he is qualified to do his job without a hardship being placed on the average taxpayer.
I always assumed if you attained any vocational placement you were fully qualified to do that job, not having to go to outside consultants to do what you were supposed to be capable to do. That’s why you are hired.
You are a public employee and work for us, not the other way around.
It would be interesting to see the many outstanding suits and further payoffs that will add more to Ontario’s outstanding debt before all this is over.
