Winona Royal Bank branch robbed at gunpoint on Monday

Hamilton police are searching for a man and woman responsible for robbing the Royal Bank branch in Winona on Monday.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., a man armed with a handgun entered the branch, waved the gun and demanded money from bank staff.

The suspect then jumped over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. He fled the bank on foot and was last seen running southbound towards an awaiting vehicle, driven by a woman.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, six feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black balaclava, sunglasses, plaid shirt, and a black hoodie.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The Hamilton police BEAR unit continues to investigate.
