Wilson Street roadwork begins Monday

Monday marks the start of a $4 million road resurfacing project on Wilson Street in Ancaster between Fiddlers Green Rd. and Halson St.  The project includes the replacement of underground water and sewer infrastructure, complete road, curb and sidewalk reconstruction, a gateway feature and decorative street lighting.

On Monday, construction crews will begin watermain work near the Wilson Street and Fiddler’s Green intersection.  During this phase, lane restrictions will be in place on Wilson Street with flagging operations.  A subsequent phase of the project will require a full closure of Wilson Street between Fiddler’s Green and Halson in order to facilitate the ongoing work.  Detour routes have been established for both local and through traffic.

The entire project will be completed by early July in time for the Canadian Open golf championship which is being hosted at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club.  Every effort will be made to complete this work in an expeditious manner and to keep any inconvenience to a minimum. The Public Works Department thanks the community for their patience and cooperation as we work proactively to enhance Hamilton’s infrastructure.
