Two seriously injured in Stoney Creek collision

A man and woman suffered life-threatening injuries during an early-morning collision on North Service Road in Stoney Creek.

Hamilton police said a vehicle was heading eastbound from Fifty Road at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday when the driver lost control, striking a barrier fence and guard rail. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch between the service road and the Niagara-bound QEW.

The 46-year-old male driver and his 39-year-old female passenger were removed from the vehicle by Hamilton fire fighters.  Both occupants were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said both were upgraded to stable condition.

The Hamilton police collision reconstruction unit is continuing its investigation.

Alcohol was not a factor, police said.

Hamilton police are asking witnesses who have not spoken to police to contact Det. Cst. Niblock at 905-546-4753.
