Two armed men sought after Upper James bank robbed

Two armed and masked men surprised three bank employees arriving at an Upper James TD Bank Tuesday morning.

Around 7 a.m., the three workers arrived at 1565 Upper James St. and were forced inside by the two armed men. The men stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank in an unknown direction.

Hamilton police checked the area for the suspects but could not find them. The BEAR (break, enter, auto theft and robbery) unit is investigating.

The suspects are described as black and between 19 and 25 years old.

The first suspect is believed to be 5’10″-5’11″, with a medium build and was wearing a dark, hooded sweater and a dark balaclava.

The second man is described as 6’0″-6’1″, with a thin build and wearing an army green-coloured hooded sweater, black Levi jeans with one rolled-up cuff, black running shoes with a silver basketball player on the heel, and a dark balaclava.
