St. Mary Catholic Secondary School principal Emidio Piccioni has been named one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals for 2014.
“Behind every great school is a great principal who is not only an outstanding educator but an excellent manager and leader,” said Akela Peoples, president and CEO of The Learning Partnership, which hosts the awards program.
“These principals are presidents of their schools; they communicate compelling visions, engage their communities, mentor their staff and, most importantly, create safe and nurturing learning environments for students. We are delighted to be recognizing these individuals as examples of excellence in public education.”
Forty educators from across the country will receive their awards at the 10th gala dinner and awards ceremony on Feb. 25 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto.
The Learning Partnership is a national charity dedicated to building stakeholder partnerships to support, promote and advance publicly funded education in Canada.
