SOS puts out call for snow blower operators

Stoney Creek Seniors Outreach Services is sending out an SOS for snow blower volunteers.

President Bill Mitchell says his group is in “urgent need” of three or four volunteers to help seniors and people with disabilities clear their driveways and sidewalks this winter.

“It’s hard work and this year, in order to try and get everybody into the program, we had to enlarge the routes because we didn’t have enough operators,” he said.
“If we don’t get some pretty soon, we’re going to have to abandon part of the program.”

SOS supplies the snow blowers, along with gas and shovels.

Operators need a pickup truck or vehicle with a trailer hitch to transport the snow blowers. Some compensation is provided.

For more information or to find out how to get involved, call Mitchell at (905) 664-4576.
