Police warn stolen animal drugs dangerous to people

Hamilton police warn that drugs stolen from a Mohawk Road East animal hospital on the weekend can be harmful if taken by people.

Sgt. Terri-Lynn Collings said thieves grabbed a variety of narcotic drugs from a locked cabinet, including Euthanyl, used to euthanize animals, after smashing a front window to enter the Gagemount Animal Hospital at about 10 a.m. on Sunday.

She said the drugs can cause serious harm or even death if ingested by humans.

Police continue to investigate the break-in and ask anyone with information to call them at 905-546-2991 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
