Police seek witnesses after elderly woman struck by school bus

Hamilton police continue to investigate after a 73-year-old woman was hit by a school bus while walking in the area of Stone Church Road East and Rochelle Avenue on Tuesday.

Const. Debbie McGreal-Dinning said the woman was attempting to cross Stone Church Road East in a southbound direction at about 2:30 p.m., when she was struck by the bus. The bus was unoccupied at the time except for the 34-year-old female bus driver, who remained at the scene until emergency crews arrived.

The victim was taken to hospital, where she remains in serious condition. Police have not released her name.
