Hamilton Police continue to hunt for a man who robbed Whitney Pharmacy last night.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., a lone male armed with what is believed to be a shotgun entered the Main Street West pharmacy.
Two female clerks were inside the pharmacy but there were no customers. The suspect pointed the firearm at one of the clerks and demanded she get on the ground. The suspect then proceeded around the counter and demanded prescription drugs, including Oxycontin pills and Fentanyl patches. The suspect located the drugs and loaded his bag with an undisclosed amount.
The suspect then fled the store on foot and was last seen traveling north from the pharmacy. Neither staff member was injured. P
Both members of the TAC Unit and K9 assisted with a search for the suspect. The suspect is described as male white, six feet tall, 20-30 years of age, with a slim build, wearing a black/blue winter coat with the hood drawn, black balaclava, black gloves, shoes (possibly hiking boots) and dark pants.
He was carrying a blue gym bag strapped over his shoulder.
The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit continues to investigate.
