The provincial Centre for Forensic Sciences will determine whether a bone found Tuesday evening in Stoney Creek is in fact human.
Hamilton Police responded to the area of McNeilly Road and 8th Road East near the Niagara Escarpment after a hiker found a bone, suspected to be human. A search of the escarpment was called off due to darkness.
The bone was recovered by the Hamilton Police Forensic Unit. It is being analyzed by The Centre for Forensic Sciences.
Hamilton Police continue to hold the scene. Depending on results from CFS, a further search may be conducted at the site tomorrow.
