Police investigate Mountain break-and-enters

The Hamilton police BEAR unit is investigating two commercial break-and-enter incidents on the Mountain during the Canada Day long weekend.

Between the dates of June 29 at 6 p.m. and June 30 at 9 a.m., a suspect broke into Carol Baker Visage cosmetic store in Limeridge Mall by prying open the back door of the business. Once inside, the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash from an office.

At 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, police received an alarm signal at Westcliffe Mall on Mohawk Road West. Officers found the back doors to the mall smashed, in addition to broken lighting. No other areas of the building were entered and police are still investigating the number of potential suspects.
