Police hunt brazen groper

Man wanted in half dozen sexual assaults on Mountain

Hamilton Police believe the same man is responsible for six sexual assaults in the Terrace Drive-South Bend Road area along with West 5th and Wembley and McElroy and Warren on the central-west Mountain between Oct. 15 and Jan. 19.

The attacks occurred between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. and in each case a female was grabbed or slapped on the buttocks or thigh by a man who came up from behind or had walked past them.

Police are looking for a thin white male, 18-22 years of age, between six-foot and six-foot five.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded sweat shirt and dark pants and in several of the attacks he was wearing a backpack.

Police believe there were people in the area that may have seen the man and they are urged to contact Detective Michelle Moore at 905-540-5545 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Sexual assault victims can also get support by calling the Hamilton Sexual Assault Centre’s 24-hour support line at 905-525-4162.
