Police continue to probe west Mountain sexual assaults

Hamilton police are on the lookout for a suspect following two sexual assaults on the west Mountain.

Det. Sgt. David Hennick said the first incident happened on Aug. 18 at about 6 p.m. A female was walking south on Sanatorium Road, south of Redfern Avenue, when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. He then ran off into the path between Sanatorium and West 35th Street.

Hennick said the second incident took place on Aug. 19 at about 9:50 p.m. A female was jogging on Sanatorium Road near Redfern when she saw a man walking towards her. The man grabbed her buttocks as she ran past him. He then ran off into the path between Sanatorium and West 35th.

The suspect in both incidents is described as white, 20 to 25 years old and six foot, with a medium build. He had a shaved or bald head and was sporting a white sleeveless T-shirt and jeans.

In one incident, he was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap.

Police believe there are witnesses who saw the suspect.
