Paul Miller cruised to victory in Hamilton East–Stoney Creek.
As of 10:16 p.m. the NDP incumbent has brought in 49.5 per cent of the vote, 6,157 votes ahead of his nearest rival, Liberal Ivan Luksic who has 27.7 per cent. PC candidate David Brown is a somewhat distant third with 16.2 per cent and Green Party candidate Gregory Zink is in fourth with 4.3 per cent. Mark Burnison of the Libertarian Party is polling at 1.7 per cent and Britney Anne Johnston of the Freedom Party of Ontario is at 0.6 per cent.
Miller easily won the riding in 2011 when he defeated Liberal candidate, and former Hamilton Community News managing editor, Mark Cripps by almost 10,000 votes.
