A Ministry of Labour investigator is at the University Plaza Dollarama store on Osler Drive to investigate an incident involving an injured employee, Tuesday afternoon.
A ministry spokesperson said preliminary information indicates an employee was apparently on a loading dock lifting boxes and caught his or her hand on a conveyor belt. He said the employer may have lost at least one finger, but could not confirm that detail as of Tuesday afternoon.
Ministry staff are waiting for more information from the investigator later today or Wednesday morning to confirm exactly what happened.
