A man in his early 20s is in hospital in serious condition after being stabbed in Stoney Creek this morning.

Hamilton police spokesperson said officers spotted the victim, who was covered in blood, as he walked by the east-end-station on King Street East at 8:56 a.m.

She said she couldn’t confirm where the stabbing occurred, but acknowledged there is a “significant police presence” at the corner of King Street and Battlefield Drive.

Detectives are on the scene and investigating.
