Down bound lanes closed a week, up bound closed three weeks
The busy Kenilworth Access will be closed in both directions starting at 7 a.m. on Friday so city crews can continue to clean up after a last week’s massive rock slide.
Up bound lanes were closed immediately last Thursday and are expected to remain closed for three weeks while the down bound lanes should be closed for about one week.
City officials say that due to the size and volume of the fallen rock the down bound lanes need to be closed. There is concern the rocks could cross into the down bound lanes during the clean-up.
During the closure the Sherman Access will operate in off-peak mode with one lane in each direction.
When the down bound lanes on the Kenilworth Access re-open, the 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. traffic controls on the Sherman Access will be restored.
