Impaired driver can’t elude Mountain RIDE lanes

A Brampton man faces impaired and dangerous driving charges after unsuccessfully fleeing a RIDE lane on the Jolley Cut on July 18.

At 2:57 a.m., police were conducting RIDE lanes on the Jolley Cut when an officer stopped a vehicle driven by a suspected impaired driver.

The driver then took off, downbound, from the lanes.  A short time later, at 3:05 a.m., officers were in the area of Auchmar and Garth streets when they saw the suspect vehicle approaching. The driver drove away in a dangerous manner in an attempt to avoid the officers.  He was subsequently arrested.

A 25-year-old man was charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, flight from police and dangerous driving.
