Hamilton Olympic Club athletes do well at Minor Track Association provincial championships

Twenty-four athletes from this area recently represented Hamilton Olympic Club at the Minor Track Association provincial championships.

It was a very successful day with 18 top-ten finishes, including five individual medals in running, jumping and throwing events.

Alec Purnell of Dundas won convincingly in both the senior boys 400 and 800 metres. Maddie Sinnamon won gold in long jump, Isaac Giffen  jumped to a bronze in long jump and Meaghan Boatsmith earned bronze in javelin. The senior girls medley relay placed second.

All athletes are taking a well-deserved break before the start of the cross-country season in early September.
