Hamilton mom allegedly sent kids’ porn images to London man

A 46-year-old Hamilton mother has been arrested and her three children removed from her east-end home after allegedly taking pornographic images of them and sending the images to a male pen pal in England via email.

Hamilton police spokesperson Catherine Martin said members of the internet child exploitation unit were alerted to the woman’s alleged activities following the arrest of a 50-year-old London man on Jan. 22 for possession of indecent images of children.

The overseas police investigation identified the Hamilton woman as being responsible for sending several images of her children to the London man, she said.

Hamilton police executed a search warrant at the woman’s east-end home this morning. She was not at home at the time but was arrested at her workplace in Toronto a short time later.

The woman’s three children were removed from her home and police notified the Catholic Children’s Aid Society. Several computers and devices were also seized for forensic investigation.

Martin said police are not releasing the woman’s name or a more specific location of her home to protect the identity of the children.

Held for a bail hearing today, the woman is charged with making, distributing and possessing child pornography.
