Dundas Blues bounced back – big time – Thursday night to even their best of seven semi-final series with Grimsby Peach Kings at one game each, with a 7-2 win at Dundas’ J.L. Grightmire Arena Thursday night.
The win comes four days after the Blues dropped the opening game of the Niagara District Junioc C Hockey playoff to Grimsby by a 7-0 score. The teams return to Grimsby tonight, Friday, Feb. 21, for game three.
Brayden Knott scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Blues. Rookie of the Year Cam McConnell added two more goals and an assist.
Dan Pelosini and Cody Carey each had a goal and an assist. Alex Aquin added a goal.
Kevin Jaczenko contributed two assists, while Thomas Dowling, Matt Johnson and Garret Incze each added an assist.
Brock Novak stopped 46 of 48 shots in net for Dundas.
Dundas’ offensive rebound from game one’s shut out forced Grimsby’s starting goalie to the bench after four goals within 24 minutes.
