Driver nabbed going 124 km-h on Fennell

A 19-year-old woman has lost her car for a week and faces a hefty fine after being clocked driving more than double the speed limit on Fennell Avenue.

Hamilton police Sgt. Terri-Lynn Collings said

Sgt Terri-Lynn Collings said Hamilton police were doing traffic enforcement on Wednesday when an Audi raced by at 124 km-h just before noon. The speed limit is 50.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days under the province’s stunt-driving legislation after being pulled over by East 18th Street.

The driver faces a fine of between $2,000 and $10,000 for exceeding the speed limit by 50 km/h or more.
