The City of Hamilton has received an Ontario Power Authority Community Conservation Award (CCA).
Hamilton was selected in the over-500,000 population division. The award highlights efforts in conservation leadership, innovation and market transformation, corporate/internal and community engagement, and conservation achievements/savings.
The city and Horizon Utilities have partnered on a number of conservation and demand management initiatives over the years. Earlier this year, the city was the recipient of a $2.3 million incentive cheque – the largest ever paid in the province – for its work upgrading the Woodward Avenue high lift pumping station.
