Two answered goals late in the third period carried the Brampton Bombers to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Ancaster Avalanche in Golden Horseshoe Conference pre-season play last night at Morgan Firestone Arena.
Ancaster now has a record of one win and two losses in exhibition play. The next action for the Avalanche is in Guelph on Friday, Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Brampton jumped out to an early lead when Nick Petropoulos scored from Kevin Boyd at 9:38 of the opening period. The Avs came back a goal of their own from Alex Takacs with Will Kelly and Spencer Leenders assisting with less than a minute to go in the middle period.
An unassisted goal by Cole Nagy two minutes into the third put Ancaster in front 2-1, but the lead was short-lived as Brampton’s Kevin Boyd scored on a power-play at the 11-minute mark to tie the score. Shawn Madden gave the Bombers the win with a goal at 14:59 as Brampton outshot Ancaster 39-18.
